Weddings
It is customary to fire three shots with a pistol before entering the wedding as a guest. Aerial firing is also done after the bride is brought to her new home.
Childbirth
When a baby boy is born. It is the mark of a progressive man to celebrate with gunfire when a baby girl is born.
Older brothers sometimes celebrate with gunfire if a baby girl is born after several brothers.
Older sisters sometimes celebrate with aerial firing when a baby brother is born, after a very long time, for example, over a decade or so.
Sometimes, when a childless couple is blessed with a boy or a girl after a very long time, family members may celebrate with aerial firing. It is a way of showing that they are as grateful for a girl, as they would have been for a boy.
