Enchanted Objects in the Hamzanama

Umro Ayyar fights an Azdaha

Spanning over 46 volumes, the Hamzanama was penned over centuries, at courts across the Persia, South & Central Asia.

Amar-o-Ayyar, often referred to as Umro Ayyar in Urdu, is a professional trickster. Ayyars are masters of disguise, with their own costumes, sign language, and codes. His "Pouch of Ayyari" is filled with oils that allow him to create illusions, and change people’s appearances!

Umro also has magical blanket bestowed upon him by Hazrat Khizar (A). It grants the power of invisibility, allowing Umro to move unseen and perform his daring feats without being detected.

Umro's Zanbeel is an enchanted, bottomless bag. It makes everything placed inside it weightless, reducing it's volume to nothing. This makes it an effective way for infinite storage capacity on the go, without burdening him at all!

The Shah Mohrah is a stone magical stone shaped like an egg. Black and white in colour, it acts as an antidote to any poison, providing a crucial safeguard against assassination attempts and poisonous traps. It was implanted in the hero, Hamza's chest, and saved his life.

Afrasiab Jadugar, the King of Sorcerers, possesses a magical mirror, which projects Afrasiab’s physical body at his court whenever he is in danger, allowing him to be in two places at once and maintain control over his realm even during perilous times.

The Pearl of Samri is another magic stone mentioned in the epic, It guides its possessor through Zulmat, the Veil of Darkness, ensuring safe passage through the magical and treacherous world.

The Lauh-e-Tilism is a magic keystone to the tilism. It can only be activated through a blood sacrifice. A tilism is a world created by sorcery, which defies the laws of physics, creating a realm where anything is possible. It is a place of enchantment, and danger.
