Lion and the Mouse

Once upon a time, a hunter came to the jungle and set a trap for the lion. The trap was such that as soon as anyone stepped on a corner of the rope, the net would fall from above. When the lion walked by that spot, it couldn’t see the trap and got caught in it.

The lion roared and struggled to escape, and nearby, a mouse's burrow was located. The mouse, who lived nearby, heard the lion's cries and came out of its home, asking, "What happened, O King of the Jungle? Why are you trapped?"

The lion replied, "This is the work of some wretched hunter. What should I do? He will catch me and take me away." The mouse said, "Don’t worry, I’ll help you." The mouse quickly gnawed through the ropes of the trap until the lion was free.

The lion thanked the mouse, and from then on, every day, the lion would take the mouse on a tour of the jungle, placing it on his back. The mouse gained great respect among the jungle animals. When the hunter returned, he saw that the trap had been cut and the lion was gone, so he returned home empty-handed.
