The Seven Jinn Kings of Old

In Muslim tradition, a Jinn King is believed to be associated with each day of the week. Each of these Kings aids one of the four Jinn elders and also rules over several tribes.

Al Mudhib, of Sunday, is associated to the Sun. His name means The Golden One. Al-Abyad (The White One) is associated with the Moon and Monday.

Al Ahmar (The Red One), of Tuesday, and Mars.

Barqan, of Wednesday, is also associated with the element Mercury. His name literally means The Two Thunderclaps.

Samhuresh is the King of Thursdays. Some believe him to be a Sahabi amongst the Jinn. Others say he died recently (in Jinn time anyway), around the 18th century, and his crown is now with another Jinn.

Zawbaah, (Cyclone), is the King of Friday and is associated with the planet Venus.

Al Maymun, the King of Saturday, is also related to Saturn. His name is Latinised as Maymon in Pietro d'Abano’s Heptameron.
