Once, a king was traveling with his wisest wazir (minister). The wazir always gave good advice and often said, “Whatever Allah does is always for the best.”
One day, the king and the wazir went hunting in the jungle. Suddenly, wild animals attacked them. The guards died protecting them, and the king got hurt, but the wazir was unharmed.
The wazir calmly said, “Whatever Allah does is for the best.”
The king became angry. “How can my injury be for the best?” he shouted. He thought the wazir didn’t care, so he ordered his soldiers to throw the wazir into a nearby dry well.
Even then, the wazir said, “This too must be for the best.”
The king was furious and left him there. As he traveled further, a group of strange people surrounded him. They said, “We sacrifice anyone who enters our lands on the altar to our Devta.”
The king was terrified. But when they saw his injury, they said, “We cannot sacrifice you, you’rre wounded. You must be perfectly healthy.” So, they let him go.
The king quickly returned to the well and pulled the wazir out. He told him everything that happened and said, “You were right! My injury saved my life.”
The wazir smiled and said, “And throwing me into the well saved mine. If I had been with you, they would have sacrificed me instead.”
The king understood the wazir’s wisdom. From that day on, he believed, “Whatever Allah does is always for the best.”
